Book Review Art of Seduction

The downside of seduction is inducing emotional dependence. The upside, on the other hand, is improvement of mutual understanding.

This book offers an introduction into seduction. And what the author meant by seduction is best expressed by this quote:

“Men would grow hooked on these refined, sensual pleasures—they would fall in love. But then, invariably, the women would turn cold and indifferent, confusing their victims. Just when the men wanted more, they found their pleasures withdrawn. They would be forced into pursuit, trying anything to win back the favors they once had tasted and growing weak and emotional in the process. Men […] would find themselves becoming the slave of a woman.”

(Reading offers so much intellectual pleasure. And if you get hooked, it doesn’t try to enslave you :-))))))

Well seduction seems to be something evil, at least for the one seduced. This is the downside of seduction, but it has an upside and an intermediate-side too. The latter is the author’s finding that most people want to be seduced. If this is good or bad I cannot say. It might be true with most people, but I personally feel quite uncomfortable. I prefer true love instead.

The upside is that considering seduction as a method to handle problems with other people leads to a better mutual understanding. The iron rule is you have to learn to feel like the other person that you want to seduce. That’s a challenge 🙂 I tried it that weekend but mostly failed eventually 😦

Probably I have to better hide my discoveries :-)))))))))))))))
